Ring Pops

"Necessity is the mother of invention," or so the saying goes.

Little did Frank Richards, an engineer at the fabled Topps Candy Company, know that in 1979, he was soon to create one of the first "novelty" type lollipops while searching for a cure for his daughter's habit of sucking her thumb?

Here's a fun fact - Ring Topps were not the first form of edible candy jewelry, as that honor went to bracelets and necklaces but they have been around in various colors and flavors for over 40 years.   

Diamonds may last forever but a Ring Pop is far better tasting..
