What Candy Means to Us on National Candy Day

Candy to us is more than just a sweet treat. It’s more than just chocolate, gummies, or hard candies. Candy, to us, is about RELATIONSHIPS.

Relationships between our family and friends, between us and our customers, and us and the candy business we work with.

In hard times, we give candies to our loved ones to show them encouragement. On holidays, we use candy to show people we love them. Best of all, whenever we need a pick-me-up, we grab some candy to help make our days better.

 When I was younger and had had a long day at school, I would come home and reach into my family’s snack drawer to pull out one of the various candies we had sitting in there.

My friends would always come over and know where to reach for one of their favorite candies. Whether it was caramels, chocolates, or gummi candies, we could always count on my mom to have the BEST selection in our neighborhood.

In school, sometimes teachers used to pass around bowls of candy, and it was just what I needed to make it through class. Candy, in those moments, wasn’t just a sweet piece of food. It would bring me joy, and it would bring joy to those around me as well.

This Saturday, November 4th, is National Candy Day.

These three candy “poopers” are perfect for a conversation starter or for someone who is looking for a good laugh, as the creatures are as adorable as the candy is delicious. They surely offer a new take on a candy dispenser!

A Llama with a rainbow mane is a rarity, but that is just. one more reason why Llama Doo is a winner.

Llama Doo is an adorable tan llama with a rainbow mane that has the unique ability to “poop” yummy candy pellets with a simple twist of its elongated neck! 

Unicorn Doo is as cute as it is whimsical. A true conversation starter!

On December 6th, Licorice Snaps Will Be Back In Stock!

It’s the moment you have all been waiting for … Licorice Snaps are soon to be back in stock, and you don’t want to miss the the opportunity to stock up on one of the most beloved and elusive candies of all time!

Production was limited in 2022, and unfortunately, we will only have a llimited, very llimited, supply!

Licorice Snaps are bite-sized bits of chewy licorice goodness, each coated with a candy shell featuring fun pastel colors. This licorice candy has been loved since the 1930s when the American Licorice Company first invented them.

During the Great Depression, this special candy was able to provide joy to customers during a hard time, and they give that same joy now. Back in the day, a box of Snaps could be purchased for 2 cents. It is sad to say that they cannot be sold for that much now; however, they still have their classic taste.

Snaps have been discontinued in the past, but their fans’ love for them wouldn’t let them be discontinued for long. Finally, in 2001 the candy was discontinued because of a decrease in sales and manufacturing complications that came with making the candy.

Snaps are a cult classic candy and are a staple in the candy community. Due to their loyal fan base, Snaps have survived over the generations and make a return each year, and it is almost that time of year!

We believe that the future of candy is rooted in the past, and part of that past is Original Licorice Snaps. They are a delicious part of candy history and represent our values within the candy industry. That being said, we are so excited to offer you one of our favorite candies again and share part of candy history with you through them.

Be warned that stock is limited when they come out, and run-ins with this candy are few and far between. So if you love licorice or candy or want to try something new, you will want to be the first to know when they restock.

Halloween was the closest it has been to “normal” in the past few years, and supply chain issues seem to be resolving, albeit slowly.

Atkinson Sugar-Free Chick-0-Sticks taste so good, you won’t know they are sugarless!

We are unsure if we love this product because of its 1950s retro vibe and whimsical name or because these new sugar-free versions, flavored with Splenda, taste delicious. Still, we know this product is a winner and one of the best-tasting sugarless options available.

Unfortunately, customer service isn’t what it used to be, and receiving an order from a company and finding out that half the products are missing is nothing short of maddening.

From our humble beginnings in 1927, we have built our company on the foundation of providing the best customer service with equally good products to match.

Instead of scaling back on customer interaction as all of our competitors have, we have gone in the other direction with added phone and email support and our new CANDY CONCIERGE SERVICE.

We may not be able to get you a reservation at the hottest restaurant or tickets to the latest play. Still, on all orders over $1000, you will have a dedicated member of our support staff assigned to your order who can help with logistics, advise on new products, or offer substitutions for products out of stock.

After 95 years, it is no surprise that our commitment to service differentiates us from our competitors. But, instead of taking one step backward with customer engagement, we are taking two steps forward.
