Celebrate National Caramel Day on April 5th.

April 5, 2024 by

Did you know that April 5th is National Caramel Day?

Although its origins are unknown, they date back to ancient civilizations. Now, caramel is a timeless staple of the sweets industry.

Caramel is made by melting white sugar to a rich, decadent consistency, and depending on that consistency, the production process changes.

Caramel comes in many forms, from sauce to hard and soft caramels and even caramel filling, each with its own unique charm and flavor.

First, we have the classic caramels, including Werther’s and our classic Vanilla Caramel Squares. Vanilla caramel creams are also very popular caramel candy, just like Cow Tales are.

If you want to celebrate something other than the classic way, you can always go with a caramel lollipop!

Currently, we have the caramel Tootsie Pops, which add the flavor of decadent caramel to a classic Tootsie Pop.

However, if you’re looking for a pop that offers a cut to the rich caramel, look at Tootsie Pops Caramel Apple lollipops, which are typically a fall treat but taste good year-round.

The most popular types of caramel candies are all the different candy bars filled primarily with caramel.

One of the most decadent is the Cadbury Caramello bar, made of milk chocolate and smooth, sweet caramel. However, the most popular bars are Twix and Snickers, some of the most iconic candy bars ever.

So, on this National Caramel Day, we wish you a day filled with the joy of caramel sweets.

We’re curious: how do you like to enjoy caramel? Is it in a bar, by itself, or some other way?

What To Do With Leftover Easter Candy…

April 1, 2024 by

After every holiday, there’s a delightful challenge of having more candy than we can eat.

But fear not, for candy is a treasure that can never go to waste, and we have the perfect solution for all your extra candy.

Easter candies, rich chocolate, and fluffy marshmallows are perfect for adding a twist to other sweets. Putting them in cookies is the perfect solution to reinvent your sweets, make them even more delicious, and ensure they do not go to waste.

I started with two bags of sugar cookie mix to create the perfect cookies. I made the dough, chopped up the candies, and mixed them in.

The beauty of this recipe is its flexibility.

You can make the dough from scratch or opt for a premade mix or dough.

There’s no wrong choice; choose what suits your baking style and complements the candy you’re using. I’d suggest a sugar cookie or classic cookie dough base, but feel free to get creative and make it your own.

After making the dough, I chopped my Easter candy to ensure it would mix well into the dough. I mixed two candies because I had them on hand, and I knew they would go well together. I had Cadbury Mini Eggs and our S’mores chocolate bunny, which were a fantastic combination.

The two different types of chocolate balanced each other well. Once those were chopped up, I mixed them with the dough and popped them in the oven.

Who would have thought that making the “Perfect Cookie” was this easy?

Beyond mixing your favorite Easter candies into your favorite cookie dough, they can also be used as cupcake decorations, mix-ins within your brownie recipes, and even candy salad or as a perfect addiiton to your office snack selection.

In conclusion, turn your extra candy into a new sweet and create the perfect cookie. With just a few simple steps, you’ll have a delectable treat that everyone will love.
