When it comes to eating candy, there are various ways that people enjoy their favorite sweets.
Many celebrities have their opinions on the issue.
For example, Kourtney Kardashian views the proper way to eat a Kit Kat: to eat all the chocolate from the wafer and then eat the crispy wafer by itself.
With almost any candy, you can choose to eat it in multiple different ways.
The standard method is just taking a bite of the candy and throwing it in your mouth no matter what. However, the other ways of eating candy create more of an experience.
For Kit Kats, like Kourtney Kardashian, you can bite all the chocolate off to reveal the wafer and then eat the wafer after. For Hershey’s bars, you can break apart all the pieces of chocolate and eat each of them individually.
For M&M’s, some people organize them by color first – one might say that this method favors those who are more compulsive – and then eat them from least favorite color to their favorite, saving the best for last.
For Milk Ways, some people start with the chocolate and then get to the “good parts” of the candy afterward. For Twix, some people start with chocolate, move on to the caramel and then eat the biscuit individually.
Saving the best candy for last, some people punch the peanut butter hole out of Reese’s Cup and eat that first, then eat the rim. It seems like a bit too much effort, but who are we to judge how people consume their favorite candy?
People eat candies differently because they are bored, want to be quirky, or believe sweets taste better when eaten in segments.
It makes an experience out of eating candy. There is something sweeter about creating an experience from eating candy. These experiences make the candies taste better and give a candy lover a sense of purpose, if only temporarily.
However, when you eat candies differently, you may lose some balance between the different flavors, or as the Greek philosopher Aristotle said, “the sum of the parts may not equal the whole.”
Who said that there isn’t a science to enjoying candy?
This lack of taste balance happens explicitly with Kit Kats, Milky Ways, Twix, and Reese’s. Therefore, when you eat off certain parts of these candies first, you may miss the balance initially created through their perfected recipes.
I like to mix it up to get the best of both worlds.
Some days I eat M&M’s randomly. On other days, I split up the colors and eat them that way. Sometimes I put an entire Reese’s Cup in my mouth; other times, I eat it in small bites.
Let us be forthright; there is no right or wrong way to eat candy, which makes candy so enjoyable.

I eat Reese’s cups by eating the outside ring and then peeling the bottom layer of chocolate off of the middle peanut butter circle and then eating the middle. I eat Twix bars bottom to top: caramel then cookie. And I eat Haribos in color order: Green, Red, Orange, Yellow, Clear, but ALWAYS save one green and one red for the end.
I love sour patch kids I suck all the sugar off till it’s not so sour then eat it
I eat candy While doing my housework then relax and watch movies
I enjoy eating candy by juggling it first and then catching it in my mouth.
My pit bull Diesel will eat all of the white good n plenties and give me all the pink ones. He also won’t eat the pink Snaps (my favorite candy) but loves all the other colors. He’s lucky I even share the Snaps as they only come out every so often! I don’t know what it is, but the pink coated coated licorice candies he does not like!
This may sound silly coming from a man my age but I must put my M&Ms in a dispenser before I eat one! The enjoyment comes from pulling the arm down and listening to it circulate down into the holding area. I have many different M&M dispensers and each and everyone has, you guest it lots of those little guy’s! The other little thing I do when I fetch them out is to separate the colors and eat the the ones that are green last! Yeah, I know, but that’s what I do and it’s so much fun!!!
I eat reeses outrageous candy bars ..I love those…I eat the top first ..then bottom…this is usually breakfast when I get to work of morning…
I eat my candy not by biting it I enjoy every bit of it just by letting it melt in my mouth like this it will last longer and I can enjoy it better
I don’t eat the candy much at all, but I do keep some small jars at my desk filled at all times which makes people in my office very happy when they come see me, and even happier when they walk away with a sweet treat!
I eat jelly beans several different flavors at one time. I eat gummies one at a time. I eat the outside ring of Caramel Creams then enjoy the cream center.
I like to freeze dry my candy to make it puff up and crunchy before I eat it
The best creative way to eat candy is in the dark – you can taste every little nuance – flavor, sweetness, and all around taste – plus the fact that you can’t see where you might spill anything so when the light comes on you will be pleasantly surprised
I eat a kit Kat by first reminiscing about when they used to come wrapped in foil then I eat all the chocolate around the wafers. Then I separate the wafers and savor the filling and last I eat the wafer
I eat my candy not by biting it I let it melt in my mouth this way I can enjoy it and it will last longer
I eat my candy by letting it melt in my mouth like this I will enjoy it better and it last longer
I eat Necco Wafers like this. I buy 10 or more packs at a time. Then I pick out my two favorite colors, black licorice and purple which I’m not sure of the flavor, maybe ginger, but I get a bag and empty all the black licorice and purple flavored disks and mix them together so I usually get a couple purple and licorice ones together and pop them into my mouth and suck on them till they disappear. Scrumptious together. Love these two flavors.
I enjoy candy everyday under the SUN and them some
I like to mix it into cookies and cakes. Sometimes I just eat it, though.
The best way to eat a Reese Cup is to freeze it then eat it from the center and save the ridges for last. Its donyimmy that way!
I normally eat candy the way it’s suppose to unless it is on a stick or freeze dried
One of my favorite things to do is when I’m at the theater, I take a hand full of popcorn and hand full of Goobers and pop both in my mouth at the same time. It’s so good! Kind of like eating old-fashioned caramel corn. Try it!
I love peanut m&ms eat candy shell then chocolate saving the peanuts for last .i also love the indian pumpkin seeds.
I have a chronic cough and the butterscotch disc’s act like cough drops. They’re great! The caramel with the cream centers remind me of time I used to spend with my Grandmother. Great memories. Malted Milk Balls are the best to sit and watch TV and have something sweet to pop into your mouth. Cures your need for a sweet.
Inside pancakes. And since I love most all candy – especially ANYTHING peanut butter – I often make chocolate pancake batter and add in chopped Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, Reese’s Pieces, and chopped Reese’s Take Five.
I love my chocolate especially almond joys. What a joy it is to break them into parts with each part having an almond. Then taking the first part and eating the chocolate and coconut around the almond saving it for the last bite then throwing the almond in my mouth. I do that with all three sections that i have broken it into. And boy is that a wonderful feeling!! I call it heavenly!! 😇
I love Buenos!!! Sometimes I buy the bite size ones so I can eat them faster. They are not too sweet but just right !!! They taste great and are fun to eat
I like to melt the candy if possible and pour it over popcorn . Other times I deep fry candy bars or on a hot Summer day I freeze them .
Ok, you take all the peanuts off the payday and put them aside to slowly add to your ice cold coke, then you slice the rest into long strings to dip in your coke!
I have a few different ways that I eat candy. I’m keeping my sugar down, but still getting to enjoy it! If it is a whole candy bar, I will eat 1/3 of it. If the smaller ones, I’ll eat the whole thing.
For different kinds of candy bars, I have some preferences as well. 🙂
Kit Kats = Take a bite, let the chocolate melt, then peel each wafer layer and let the sugar melt.
Snickers – Take a bite, let the chocolate melt, let the caramel melt then chew the peanuts.
Taking small bites and savoring the flavor is the best!
I do a delicious power move by alternating my M & Ms with something salty like pretzels or potato chips. By alternating one by one- I achieve the perfect sweet and salty balance!!
carefully
I eat a Three Musketeer candy bar by eating all of the hard chocolate around the outside first, then the gooey inside last.
I love putting Milky Way bars and Baby Ruth bars on popsicle sticks and freezing them. They last longer and taste terrific! Those are definitely treats that I won’t outgrow!
I have loved licorice snaps since i was a kid and still love them. I eat them by the handful and my siblings and friiends enjoy them too.
I eat Twix and Snickers by the layers that way you get to live in each delicious bite, and appreciate the craft that goes into creating each layer. Reeses I eat the edges then the top, middle and then the bottom. Sooooo goooood….But know matter what the candy is it gets eaten and enjoyed in the process.
There’s nothing like a Nestle Crunch! Milk coating with Krispies.
I enjoy this delicious candy with my family.
Each order I have received is divided with five people. They love it too!!!
I use the flavored slices in a candy I make at Christmas. My circus peanuts I take little bites and wait for them to disolve in my mouth before the next bite. Makes the candy last longer!!! I’ve also used them in a salad.
On special occasions, I savor little bites of crunchy toffee from Heath bars mixed well into vanilla frozen custard. The soft chocolate shavings split off and make the indulgent masterpiece a swirl of unbeatable yummy tastes and textures!
I eat the chocolate around the edges of a Reese’s cup first, the the chocolate from the bottom then top, savoring the peanut butter in the middle last. I love the Reese’s big cups best! Or the trees at Christmas and eggs at Easter.
When I eat a Snickers bar, I eat the bottom first and save the Carmel and nuts for last! Unless it’s summer then I freeze the little bite size Snickers and pop them in my mouth whole!
My favorite candy is Hershey’s chocolate bars so I break off the squares, put one in my mouth, and let it melt a bit, then I take a swig of hot coffee, mix them together, then swallow, it leaves a lovely mocha taste in my mouth. When I want to live a little, I use white or dark chocolate instead of milk chocolate. Yum.
My second favorite candy is Necco wafers because as a child, I could buy a package, and I had sweets for 3 days. I ate them by color because I didn’t like the yellow ones so I saved them for my little sister because I didn’t like her either.
This is so embarrassing but, here we are. My favourite is Malteasers, I start out with one then two ( trying to control myself) and before you know it I eating them by the handful! Not just one handful either! It happens every single time, and I will do it until my teeth hurt. It is the only (food) I will eat that way. I’m not sure they have ever lasted me more than one day, likely no more than one sitting! And that ladies and gentlemen is my confession.
I enjoy my candy after my housework is done it’s my reward for completing the task that I don’t really like to do the end reward is sweet
I love gum, and cinnamon candy. When I was younger I used to chew on the cinnamon toothpicks in class, because we couldn’t have candy in class, technically it wasn’t candy
I love the tiny chicklets gum too, small but yummy.
I have a special way to eat m&m’s: I take a handful and put them on a plate and then microwave them at 15 second intervals until they become gooey on the inside but the shell
is still intact. They are warm as they pop on the roof of my mouth.
The violet candies are also a favorite…I have them in the evening and in the dead of winter they make me think of spring.
I like the Brach Fiesta Easter eggs and not just at Easter. I love them at every time of the year. The best way to eat them is first to suck the delicious white or pastel coating for awhile. Then I begin to chip away at it with my teeth until I eat it off trying very hard not to bother the layer of milk chocolate underneath it. After that layer is off and eaten, I use my teeth to peel off the milk chocolate layer and eat it. Finally, it’s time for the crispy malted center.
Occasionally, I cheat and chomp through all three layers at once enjoying the decadence of the mixed flavors but most of the time, I extend the enjoyment one layer at a time.
Eating the eggs this way is kind of like enjoying a chocolate silk pie, layer by layer.
I love to put Doschers French Chews in the refrigerator so they are cold and I can smack them on the counter to break it into pieces and eat them! It doesn’t matter the flavor, they all taste great like that!
Melissa Cervantes
I love Reese Cups, but my husband only likes the peanutbutter. So I eat the chocolate and save the peanutbutter for him. This is true love!!!!
Thank you for reminding me to stock up on RM Palmer bunnies. Their chocolate factory in West Reading, Pa., was leveled by an explosion in March. I doubt if the factory will be rebuilt anytime soon… if ever.
My sister and I would take (2) two pieces of a Kit Kat bar each, eat one piece and then with a toothpick poke a hole in the in the end of the other. Take a piece of licorice push it thru the hole in the Kit Kat and tie a knot. You now have a make shift fishing pole, now using a sweedish fish tie it to the other end of the licorice. Sour patch kids make great fishermen. Time consuming but tasty and fun!!
I just love two suck. All the chocolate off off any chocolate bar and let the rest .melt away I just love chocolate.
Looked like fun so thought ìd give it a try. Thank you Paul.
i like to eat the wafer part of a kit kat while saving the chocolate and caramel off to the side
Lemon drops
My comfort candy
Childhood memories of the best times with my mom
With M’Ms I sort them by what colors they make; I’m an artist! Lol! (Ex: Blue + yellow = green ; Blue + orange = brown; etc!)
I eat my candy one bite at a time savoring the taste and enjoying it. It doesn’t matter what type of candy it is. I just enjoy it.
For sour candy, I like to mix colors to get the best sour flavors together. With chocolate, I like to break them up in the small pieces to savor the flavor. Licorice I just like to constantly eat them. Other candies I tend to sort by colors. Green m&M’s, red gummy bears, black jelly beans, the usual.
I have taught all my little grandkids how to suck the Nik-L-Nips clean out of the wax bottles. They are all pros. I have photos of this
plain M & M’s are THE BEST. We use them as money and play cards. The colors are by amount so whomever has the most of the designated high color, wins the pot. We have a lot of laughs and half the time while we are playing we eat them so very seldom to we have enough left to count and win the pot
I just love SNAPS. I eat them by colors never blending them. I run to the mirror and look at my tongue . I check out what looks the most outrageous and then visit my dentist a few hours later for my appointments. I wait for the comments when I open my mouth to the bright PINK, Green or chalk white tongue I have. Most of the time my dentist just shakes his head and can’t believe at age 85 I still play the childish games. Snaps taste great after all these years !
I love Good n Plenty licorice and eat it while reading in bed. I’m also fond of anything peanut butter and chocolate, such as Reese’s peanut butter cups. I’ll eat those in little bites, savoring each one. Although I’ve been known to just pretend they’re “bite-size” and down eat one in one (big) mouthful.
I love 3 Musketeers, one of my grandsons and myself eat the chocolate from around the center and see who can leave the most then eat the center
