Icee Slush Candy

A wise man once said, "chance favors the prepared mind." So who would think a mistake would lead to one of the world's most popular slush drinks that later shared its name with novelty candy?

In 1958, due to a broken refrigerator, a storekeeper named Omar Nedlik put his soft drinks in a freezer in hopes of keeping them cold.

Unfortunately, or perhaps not, depending on how you look at it, the soda turned to slush, and instead of throwing them out, he sold them to customers who loved them, and hence Icee Soft Drinks were born!

So popular was this drink that decades later, its name was licensed to a line of delicious and whimsical novelty candy sure to be a hit at any concession stand, swimming pool, or candy store/
