We may not be able to offer "actual" dating advice, but we can certainly explain how manufacturer's dating works and what it means to you, the consumer.
CandyFavorites.com aims to provide you with the best-tasting and freshest candy available, even past its "best by" date. We ensure that the quality of our products is always top-notch. However, we understand that there are times when a product goes beyond its "best by" date.
We offer it at a discount in such cases because we value your satisfaction and want to give you the best options.
We are often asked if it is safe to eat products after this date, and here's what we found on Cleveland Clinic's website. To read the full article, please click HERE.
"You'll see dates on many perishable foods such as meat, poultry, eggs, and dairy products. But you might be surprised that they aren't usually about food safety.
According to the USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service, manufacturers put "best by" or "best if used by" dates on their products to let retail stores and consumers know how long their products are expected to maintain their best taste and texture.
These dates aren't required by federal law (though some states require them) and don't necessarily indicate a product's safety (with the exception of baby formula). In fact, perishable products are usually safe to consume beyond their "best by" date if they've been handled and stored properly.
Our experience has been that candy is often good long after the manufacturer's "best by" date, and many in our industry feel it's more geared toward encouraging sales than providing the best intentions to consumers. It's a bit tricky.
For example, a manufacturer will set an expiration date a month before a holiday the following year, especially for seasonal candy like Halloween or Christmas-themed treats, if only to force wholesalers to repurchase the product.
This is a common industry practice and doesn't necessarily mean the product is no longer safe or delicious; however, it does mean that the wholesaler will have to reorder the product from the manufacturer if they intend to sell it again.
All our products are properly stored, inspected, and tasted, and we would never offer an out-of-date product that is harmful or less than delicious.
While the manufacturer's suggested date may have passed, these products offer substantial savings to the consumer, are perfectly safe to consume, and often provide an opportunity to purchase candy, such as a Limited-Edition Candy Bar, that may never be available again.
We have thousands of options for the freshest candy. I f you are looking for a more economical option and don't mind that the product may be slightly beyond the manufacturer's "best by" date, we have options for you, too.

[message]These are all good hard candies, minty or fruity. The flavors are nice and strong.
I love the peppermint Starlight mints, but I also enjoy the fruity flavors that I can no longer find near me.
I never see these here in central Ohio. These are so yummy! I am glad to have found them.
I can only find the peppermint ones where I live, so I was glad to find the mixed bags available at your shop. My faves are the wintergreen.
This candy is flavorful with just a bit of chocolate in the center. So reminiscent of years ago at grandma's house.
