Ernest Prince, as cited from his 1953 keynote address while serving as the 9th President of the National Candy Wholesalers Association (currently known as AWMA).

The year was marked by his receipt of the J. Roger Ozmon Award, recognizing innovation, leadership, and excellence, particularly for his contributions during the Second World War when wholesalers collaborated to produce candy and fulfill government contracts.

Ernest also held the presidency of the Pittsburgh Candy Club back in 1946, and 7 years later, he became the President of the National Candy Wholesalers Association, which was a first for any wholesaler in Western Pennsylvania! 

Once upon a time, Western Pennsylvania was home to more independent candy wholesalers than any other state in the nation.

As we reach 2025, our 98th year, only two historic companies are still standing, with McKeesport Candy Co. proudly holding the title of the oldest.
