PEZ candy was invented in 1927, which you may or may not know is the same year that McKeesport Candy Co. was founded. It was a good year for candy!
The PEZ dispenser, created in 1948, was originally marketed in cigarette-lighter-shaped packaging and sold as an alternative to smoking. But when the beloved PEZ dispenser design that we sell today was introduced in the 1950’s, it quickly became a pop-culture sensation. In fact, Christie’s held a pop-culture auction in 1993 that featured collectible PEZ dispensers. What a coup!
Would you be surprised to learn that PEZ collectors have regular conventions and gatherings all over the world? We were a little surprised, but everybody needs a hobby. Get started on your PEZ dispenser collection right now so you don’t miss any more of the fun.
Please note that Pez Dispensers are considered a "collectible" and we are not able to guarantee that the products shown in the picture are included. The manufacturer reserves the right to add or subtract characters or change the product mix without notification.
