If you've never experienced the sweet, gooey, and all too often messy bliss of a Valomilk, you're in for a treat.
Imagine a Mallo Cup—which is easy to do if you are located near our warehouse in Pennsylvania as they are produced by a candy company only a few miles away—but that's a whole different story—bigger, bolder, and overflowing with liquid marshmallows.
Valomilk is a retro candy that's been delighting sweet tooths for nearly a century. Its name—V for Vanilla, ALO for Marshmallow, and MILK for Texture—pays tribute to the ingredients that make this such an "over-the-top" candy.
A Sweet and Often Sticky History
Valomilks were born in the 1930s in Kansas City, Kansas, thanks to the Sifers family, which had been in the candy business since 1903.
The story goes that an employee accidentally added too much vanilla to a batch of marshmallow cream, making it runny. Instead of tossing the botched batch, they poured it into a chocolate cup—and thus, the first Valomilk was born.
As with all lore, a few liberties may have been taken with the truth. The formula didn't exactly come about because of an accident - this has been a subject of debate amongst candy lovers - but it makes for a great story, and who doesn't love a great story, especially when it is about candy?
Produced in Kansas by the Russell Sifers Candy Co., these delicious candies are still made by hand using the original equipment and recipe, giving them an authentic old-school charm!
Valomilks has stubbornly resisted modernization, although that can not be said of the company, which is in its fifth generation of family ownership!
What Makes a Valomilk Different?
While similar in shape to the better-known Mallo Cup, Valomilks take their ingredients to the next level, making them similar to a Mallo Cup "on steroids," as an online review said.
These treats have a runny marshmallow center that oozes out when you bite them. It's messy, nostalgic, and undeniably fun. The shell is rich milk chocolate, thicker than most mass-produced cups, and just the right amount of sweetness.
We have offered Valomilks for decades, and while they are not inexpensive, they are worth the price and effort to find, as they are truly unique. They are also highly perishable, and we strongly suggest you opt for ice packs, thermo cases, and Route Package Protection!
