Well, folks, fall has almost fallen. As temperatures drop, people are beginning to pay more attention to their favorite fall items and foods. Whether it be that pumpkin spice latte or your most worn pair of boots, there is something everyone is excited for during the fall. But I want to talk about something a bit controversial in the candy world. Some believe this item to be the epitome of the fall season, but some also believe it to be an insult to the candy world. I’m talking about candy corn.
Now you may be thinking that candy corn is a classic staple for the fall season, which in my opinion, it is. Even though you may not like the taste, like me, you have to respect the aesthetic of classic candy corn, at least. But I’m not talking about any normal run of the mill candy corn. I’m talking about candy corn that tastes like a full Thanksgiving turkey dinner. Yes, you read it correctly, Turkey Dinner flavored Candy Corn!
This fall season, Brach’s has released its newest product, Turkey Dinner Candy Corn. Honestly, in the world we live in, nothing surprises me anymore, but that doesn’t mean I’m not interested. The flavor profile covers the entire table and pays tribute to all the different recommended food groups. With the flavors being Cranberry Sauce, Green Beans, Ginger Glazed Carrot, Stuffing, Sweet Potato Pie, and Roasted Turkey, Brach’s is giving you the whole Thanksgiving dinner experience in one bag, or at least attempting to. It may not be an excuse not to have to travel to your family or in-laws, but it may be worth a try.
It isn’t the sweet flavors that are scaring me. I think Cranberry Sauce and Sweet Potato Pie could be executed well, even Ginger Glazed Carrot. But the savory flavors are where I am at odds. Is it possible to pack the taste of a juicy baked bird into a small piece of candy corn (I can’t believe that is a real sentence I just wrote)? I will say I don’t have high hopes for this product in the sense that it is something I would enjoy to snack on, but I do want to try it and see for myself, and I think you should too!
