There is something downright nostalgic in appearance and taste about Necco Slap Stix Caramel Pops as, at first glance, they remind you of something that you would purchase, or might win, at a carnival. They look like a lollipop that your grandparents enjoyed and, indeed they might have but under a different name.
First released in the 1920’s under the brand name Snirkle, this unusual lollipop was manufactured by a long defunct called Stark Candy Company and disappeared much to the chagrin of candy lovers.
Fast forward 60 years and the good folks at Necco acquired Stark Candy as well as the rights to their products, most notably, the beloved Caramel and Banana flavored Lollipop that we affectionately know as Slap Stix.
Necco admits to a few formula changes all in the name of progress but, essentially, this oversized caramel sucker is as close to the original as you are going to get and much fresher…
Each Slap Stix is individually wrapped, made with fresh skim milk and weighs in at 0.7 ounces of pure caramel bliss
Times change, names change but great candy seems to endure…

I wish this candy would come back. I read a reply that said the candy was hard, as far as I can remember the caramel and banana flavored candy texture was somewhat soft and one of the better caramels candies in my opinion.
We also wish it would come back as it was a classic. Necco made so many great products that disappeared when they closed. Sad but true and becoming more common these days in the candy industry!

ADDICTIVE!
This candy is an all time favorite! I shared with a friend and her family and now they are addicted too!
These retro lollipops have been around for a long time although under different names. As delicious as they are pretty, one you eat one, you may have a hard time stopping... ;)

I remember
I remember going to the little grocery store across the street from my house and buying slap stick Carmel pops. They were so good then and they still are today. I love them!

Favorite childhood candy
I grew up in the late 60s and the 70s and this was my absolute favorite candy. I was so happy to find it a couple years ago ... love it, love it, love it! I know the website says there's been a slight recipe change; I can't notice it. It still tastes as good as it did when I was a kid! Please don't ever discontinue this product. Thanks for allowing me to re- live my childhood.
Reliving one's childhood is what retro candy is all about! I am glad you enjoyed your candy and we hope to be able to continue selling these for many years!
Everything Wonderful...Fresh always, Deliver Quick. The only think was the order was large & in one bag would have liked in two bags. Recommend to everyone...Thank you Always
I ordered earth day candyglobes. I was called by Ricky that they had just filled their last amount. When I told her that our ECO group was having a gathering on Eartg Day, she said she would do what she could to see if they are delivered she could get them to me on time. I assumed that would not happen, but she called to say they arrived on Friday and she would het them to m by Monday. They arrived she called the next day to see if they arrived. Her service was amazing but onto the event . They were scooped up and loved.Everyone asking where they came from. In our review the company was heralded and I was told to order twice as much next year.
In these difficult days what a beautiful, kind pleasant and delicious experience! When I called her back the owner answered and explained that service comes first. They are in business 99 years and the first candy store online in 1998.
These are difficult to find here and when we do they are NOT fresh. I was actually expecting {hoping} that these would be fresher and they absolutely are! Now I know where and who to purchase my spice drops from. Note, I have already ordered them again. I admit, I am a spice drop addict!
