The original was made by NECCO who went out of business in 2019 but the new ones, manufactured by RITO, taste almost as good - maybe even better! Imitation, after all, is the highest form of flattery!
Much like White Peppermints, the original pink lozenges first appeared in Canada during the late 1880s, but didn't arrive in the United States until the early 1900s, hence their nickname "Canada Mints." Originally sold in bulk, it wasn't until 1916 that they were offered as a $.05 count good which gave them pride of place on any well-appointed candy counter. We are grateful they are back and you will be too...

My husband loves these candies. That's why I buy them in bulk. They don't always last as long as they should, but I know where to get more!

There wintergreen lozenges aremy favorite non-chocolate candy. I shouldn't have them, but when I have a low blood sugar (I'm a diabetic) episode, these are my 'medicinal wintergreen lozenges' to get my blood suger back up to where it should be.

My pink wintergreen candy
These were one of my favorite candies growing up and my mom used to give them to us when we had upset stomach, works very well on that! There’s a different name on them but same wonderful candy!
The candy you are referring to is the Canada Mints which were made by Necco prior to the company going bankrupt! We searched high and low until we found a new substitite and are thrilled they were well received on your end! The name may be different but they offer the same great taste!
