Just hearing this name brought back memories of scraping together coins to purchase a box of one of these genuinely iconic candies at our local candy store. There was something exotic about candy with a soft outside and hard center, and packaging that was just downright “old school.”
Candy lovers may know that Johnny Apple Treats was the founding member of the Lemonhead candy clan ever since it made its debut in 1908. Over the years, the candy remained the same, but the name changed to Appleheads.
In 2020, 1908 Candy Co. decided to “turn back the clock” and return this delightful tart apple treat to its rightful name. This candy is sure to please young and old alike and a great way to try a candy that your parents and grandparents, and maybe even their grandparents enjoyed.

I tried a limited time release butterfinger french toast bar from a convenience store and went back next day and they were sold out. After many online retailers advertising the same bar for $10-$12 each I found candy favorites online and was able to get 3 boxes of these amazing bars shipped to my home on ice packs all for around $2 per bar.
I Keep them in the fridge. Grandkids have discovered they are there so I may be ordering again very soon!
