Two of our favorite friends, Mike & Ike, are going on a sabbatical. We are not sure where they are going – perhaps a tropical island or a sojourn around the world – but the good news is that they will be back, but when remains unknown, which is in keeping with their overall mystique. Believe it or not, no one knows exactly who they were named after, even after over 80 years! So let’s consider them the "Unofficial Candy Men of Mystery."
As you can imagine, supplies are VERY LIMITED, and demand is VERY HIGH and once gone, they will not be replenished for quite some time. We are as dismayed by this as you must be, but it seems to be the trend in the candy industry these days.

As you are likely seeing across various categories and with several manufacturers, Just Born has been experiencing a significant increase in demand for our products for both Everyday and Seasonal items. Given this increased demand and dramatically longer lead times on materials, including ingredients and packaging, it has been challenging to keep up from a production perspective within all pack types. In addition, we also began our annual production of Jelly Beans which we have committed will be supplied to the market once again for the Easter 2022 season.
As previously communicated for our Everyday business, our top priorities are to ensure the availability of Theater Box, Stand Up Bag, and Peg Bags. We have stayed ahead of demand with few exceptions. However, this has unfortunately come at the expense of other pack types. For this reason, we are announcing that we will pause accepting orders for our MIKE AND IKE® and HOT TAMALES® Count Goods and Bulk business until further notice.
In addition, our Changemakers will be on allocation with limited anticipated supply for the next three months, and although Peg Bags are a priority, we will be monitoring inventory and demand closely to minimize delays or cuts over this same time period. Finally, Everyday displays will not be available until April 2022 with a forecast. We feel that this is the best course of action to ensure we are able to satisfy the demand for our key priority pack types of Theater Box, Stand Up Bag, and Peg Bags to the best of our ability. We sincerely apologize for this situation and any inconvenience this will cause to your business and will communicate the status on inventory and availability in January 2022.
Yes, this is hard to believe, and we encourage you to stock up while supplies last!
