In 1930, Frank Mars, the father of Forrest Mars, named his candy bar after his beloved horse named Snickers. Ironically, the name of the family farm located in Tennessee was Milky Way. These candy bars stirred a bit of controversy upon their release as they were priced at 20 cents at a time when customers expected candy bars to cost a nickel. The inspiration for the bar wasn't a candy bar at all, but rather a confection made of nougat, peanut & caramel.

To make things even more complex, Mars now markets a "Marathon" branded version of the Snickers bar as an energy bar.

Shipping has long been a challenge, as it often costs more than the product itself, and it always exceeds the amount we charge the customer. We don't use shipping as a profit center and never have.
You opted for flat-rate shipping at $11.95, but the actual cost was $12.16. We also included an ice pack, which is approximately $2, to safeguard your product. Basic math shows that we actually charged you less than what it costs us!
It always pays to order larger quantities to either offset shipping costs or take advantage of free shipping at $149.95 - our threshold is among the lowest in the industry. Please note that candy, especially chocolate, is perishable. We need to ship it in a way that best protects the product.
