Tootsie Pops were introduced in 1931 and are still found on teachers' desks and doctors' counters everywhere, more than 80 years later! 
Do you know how many licks it takes to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop?
A group of students from Purdue University figured out that it takes approximately 364 lick to get to the center by using a licking simulator. However, when actual people tried it, it only took them, on average, 252 licks.
In case you are planning on doing your own experiments, please keep in mind that there are about 25 Tootsie Pops per pound.
