There is something downright nostalgic in appearance and taste about Necco Slap Stix Giant Caramel Pops as, at first glance, they remind you of something that you would purchase, or might win, at a carnival. They look like a lollipop that your grandparents enjoyed and, indeed they might have but under a different name.
First released in the 1920’s under the brand name Snirkle, this unusual lollipop was manufactured by a long defunct called Stark Candy Company and disappeared much to the chagrin of candy lovers.
Fast forward 60 years and the good folks at Necco acquired Stark Candy as well as the rights to their products, most notably, the beloved Caramel and Banana flavored Lollipop that we affectionately know as Slap Stix.
Necco admits to a few formula changes all in the name of progress but, essentially, this oversized caramel sucker is as close to the original as you are going to get and much fresher…
Each Slap Stix is individually wrapped, made with fresh skim milk and weighs in at .7 ounces of pure caramel bliss
Times change, names change but great candy seems to endure…

- Halloween memory
- Review by Rox , 9/30/12
Halloween was always one of my favorite times of the year. When going trick or treating we didn't have the worries and scares that they do now days. We would go all around town with our friends and come home with a pillow case full of candy, so excited!! Then we would divide all our candy into piles of the suckers, gum, hard candies, licorice, etc. My mom would give us glass jars to put them into and we would fill them up and we would line our dressers with them. It was sooooo cool. Such fun memories.
