Necco Wafers are a smooth, sugary treat in flawless pastel colors that have been a candy favorite for decades.
In the 1930's, Admiral Byrd took 2 1/2 tons of NECCO Wafers to the South Pole, which was practically a pound a week for each of his men during their two-year stay in the Antarctic!
Admiral Byrd chose Necco Wafers because they are virtually impossible to destroy, they never expire (although unlike wine, we are not sure if they get better with age) and, of course, because they taste great!
There are approximately 35 Necco Wafers per pound, which is nearly enough to fuel your very own Arctic expedition!
