I will never forget taking my 3-year-old son to a Halloween Contest with his 5-year-old brother. The 5-year-old had a great costume made by his art-teaching mother. We had nothing for the 3-year-old, so I looked in the closet and found a black Dracula cape I had used as a costume. We put that long cape on him with a Batman mask. It was so long, he had to hold out his arms to walk. When he entered the room walking slowly, holding out the cape with the mask, it was spectacular.
Needless to say, he won a prize! In the prize was a basket full of treats and one was candy corn. He ate one and asked what is this? We said "Candy Corn!" He asked " Where does it grow?!"

My favorite memory is making individual bags of candy corn for kids to collect when they were trick or treating. We used to have them ready and waiting on the stairs when i was a kid to give out to kids.
