Chunky Candy Bar is one of the older American candy bars which was first introduced in the late 1930's by Philip Silvershein. Although the candy is filled with a multitude of ingredients, the name Chunky derived from the nickname of Silvershein’s granddaughter.
Lore has it that the original shape of the candy bar was a pyramid, but this led to packaging difficulties and the creator decided to simply cut off the top hence the square shape the candy comes in now.
Please note that the current formula does not contains cashews and is an amalgamation of milk chocolate, peanuts and raisins.
