McCraw's Old Fashioned Taffy Sticks are an old fashioned piece of taffy with a unique story

In the early 1900's, a candy salesman from Dallas arrived and had a "brainstorm" that lead to the creation of one of America's favorite candies

His idea was nothing more than a simple statement that he made to the owner of company, "You should make taffy and sell it with the popcorn."

He gave Mr. McCraw a candy thermometer, a recipe and a pulling hook to make taffy.

McCraw, ever the optimist, purchased fifty cents worth of sugar and recruited his wife to make candy which he sold alongside popcorn which was the mainstay of his business

The taffy sold today is made using the same formula and technique as it was over a hundred years ago and, as the slogan goes, " this candy has the "taste of an old fashioned country store...
