Double Bubble Bubble Gum was invented by Walter Deimer in 1928 but it was not until 1930 that comic strips featuring Dub and Bub (affectionately known as the Dubble Bubble Twins) were added to each individual piece

In 1937, individually wrapped gum squares were made available to the public and in 1941, it was decided that a piece of gum would be included in the rations for US soldiers serving in the Second World War

In 1950, Dub and Dub were replaced by the now famous comic character named Pud
