A classic saying goes along the lines of “we all want what we can’t have” or something of that nature (sorry, I admit I don’t know the exact wording). Well, there was one specific candy that I used to have all the time growing up. One specific candy that my grandmother would somehow magically pull out of her purse and don’t even get me started on my excitement seeing this special candy in my Easter basket. So what was this beyond delicious candy that had an iron grip on my 9-year-old self… CREME SAVERS HARD CANDY!
Whether it was Orange & Cream or Strawberries & Cream, I would gobble these little hard candies up as if my life depended on it. Then one day, poof! Creme Savers were nowhere to be seen.
Initially introduced in the late 90s, the idea of Creme Savers was to be a spinoff of Lifesavers, only creamier. They soon became a staple candy in the early 2000s, and then in 2011 were discontinued mysteriously. Not many people know why the company discontinued a fan favorite – it remains one of the great mysteries of the candy world – but hey, let’s not focus on the past; let’s live in the now.
The previous candies came in a variety of flavors, including tropical cream, but now Iconic Candy is just focusing on the original two flavors, Strawberries & Cream and Orange & Cream. When it comes to Creme Savers, the best thing to do is stick to the classics and be grateful that these delicious candies can be enjoyed by yet another generation of candy lovers!
So it has been a decade since we last saw these round, hard candies in our warehouse, but we are ready to see them again. Your Grandma’s purse will never feel so empty again, and those glass candy bowls will have to make room because the hard candy favorite is back. You better move quickly though, these babies are going to fly off the shelves!
