Three New Fruit Flavored Efrutti Gummi Candies!

September 14, 2022 by
Efrutti offers three new fruit-flavored gummi candies!

As a kid, I went to my brother’s baseball games. I remember more of the concession stand than I do of the actual games themself.

I would buy sunflower seeds and, of course, Efrutti Gummi “meals .”They are a core memory from my childhood, just looking at a pack of them in a candy store sends me back.

All of them were sweet and about 25 times smaller than the actual foods. It’s been years since these delicious little gummi treats entered my mouth, but now I’ve found myself wanting different Efrutti gummies, and these new ones do just the trick for me.

Instead of savory fast foods serving as inspiration, these Efrutti gummies are flavored with fresh and juicy fruit flavors, making you feel like you are eating the real thing!

The Efrutti Bunch of Bananas, Watermelon Wedges, and Creamy Dreamy Strawberry Batch deliver fresh produce with just one bite. Even though they don’t provide potassium, vitamin A, or vitamin C, they are undoubtedly delicious.

The Efrutti Bunch of Bananas gives you the delicious taste of a banana without the pain of having to peel them or the worry of slipping on a wayward peel! With these gummies, you can enjoy a tatse of the tropics year round!

Once you open the bag, you have a bunch of bananas at your disposal. So if you are looking for some sweet bananas or get sick of the peel, this Efrutti candy is the one for you.

You will “go bananas” for these gummies and won’t be able to put them down. However, if you want a sweeter juicier tropical taste, you should go for the Watermelon Wedges.

Efrutti Watermelon Wedges deliver fresh fruit flavor right to your mouth without worrying about seeds. They are perfect for any hot weather you may experience.

You don’t just eat these watermelon wedges, you love them, and I’m sorry to say that you will crave them, so it is a good thing they are sold in six units!

If you need delicious berry flavors, the Creamy Dreamy Strawberry Batch – try saying that three times fast – gummies give you the best of both worlds, with berries and cream flavors in every bite!

The strawberry flavoring from the gummi throws in fresh sweet flavors. In contrast, the marshmallow flavoring adds creaminess and dimension to them.

These gummies aren’t like the twists on typical American foods for which Efrutti is best known. But, just like the food they are inspired by, they are fresh, and as soon as you look at them, you need to take a bite.

These gummies are delicious and unlike any other gummi candy on the market at the time, and guess what? They will be available in early October and are a perfect addition to any bag candy display.  Lest we forget, they are also fat, gluten and nut free!

Introducing our NEW Candy Concierge Service!

August 4, 2022 by
For 95 years, we have offered the BEST Customer Service in the Wholesale Candy industry.

Everyone loves being made to feel special, and ordering candy should be a joy and not a chore.

Unfortunately, customer service isn’t what it used to be, and receiving an order from a company and finding out that half the products are missing is nothing short of maddening.

From our humble beginnings in 1927, we have built our company on the foundation of providing the best customer service with equally good products to match.

Instead of scaling back on customer interaction as all of our competitors have, we have gone in the other direction with added phone and email support and our new CANDY CONCIERGE SERVICE.

We may not be able to get you a reservation at the hottest restaurant or tickets to the latest play. Still, on all orders over $1000, you will have a dedicated member of our support staff assigned to your order who can help with logistics, advise on new products, or offer substitutions for products out of stock.

After 95 years, it is no surprise that our commitment to service differentiates us from our competitors. But, instead of taking one step backward with customer engagement, we are taking two steps forward.

A Review of America’s Favorites Candies from CandyFavorites.com

July 26, 2022 by

In honor of America’s birthday month, which happens to coincide with ours – McKeesport Candy Co. is 95 years young this July and holds the distinction of being the OLDEST Wholesale Candy Company in the nation – I thought I would write about some of our favorite candies and how I feel about them.

This holiday got me thinking about our country, and of course, my sweet connections made me think about what candies best represent our country.

To determine which candies represent America, I researched a list of the most sold candies in the United States. To no surprise, I knew almost every name! I was familiar with their flavors, knew their packaging, and had seen them countless times on shelves all around the nation.

Some of these candies shocked me, like Hot Tamales and 3 Musketeers. Although I know both candies, I haven’t ever heard someone say they are their favorite candy. My favorite on the list is Reese’s (which should come as no surprise if you have seen my other posts), but I also am a huge fan of M&M’s and most of the other candies on the list.

Here is my ranking of America’s favorite candies and how I feel about them.

Join Hannah as she reviews America’s Favorite Candy Bars

1. Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups

The clear winner for most of America and me! It’s a time-tested delicious mix and balance of chocolate and peanut butter. There is something about the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup: each time I have one, they get better and better, something I cannot say about every candy.

So perhaps they are worthy of the designation of being genuinely classic! You will hear no arguments from this end!

2. M&M’s

With many different flavors and fun colors, M&M’s never got old. My personal favorite is the Fudge Brownie one, as well as the Peanut M&M’s. However, I’m not too fond of the peanut butter ones, even though I know they are a favorite. The good news is that whatever flavor you choose, they are sure to melt in your mouth and not in your hand

3 Musketeers

I know it might not be everyone’s candy bar, but it has withstood the test of time and has remained on candy shelves for over 90 years! Often people might prefer Twix or Snickers. However, the 3 Musketeers bar is sweet and delicious with its chocolate whipped mousse filling.

4. Kit Kat

Kit Kats are a classic and are an ever-evolving brand with new Limited Edition flavors coming out regularly. I love the delicious wafer and how they combine a balance of delicious chocolate and crunch.

5. Sour Patch Kids

As you can probably tell from my rankings, I am more of a chocolate girl than a gummy one, but I love Sour Patch Kids. My favorite ones are green, orange, and yellow (the best ones because it’s always easy to find

someone to share a pack with). They have great flavors that pack a sour punch and a sweet kick and have come a long way from when they were invented in the 1970s and called Mars Men!

6. Snickers

A classic American candy that I do find quite delicious, just not my favorite. However, the ice cream version of a Snickers is absolutely to die for; I love it so much. The balance of nougat, smooth caramel, and crunchy peanuts all enrobed in chocolate is fantastic; there is no wonder why this made the list and why it is one of the best-selling candy bars in the world, selling over 400 million candy bars yearly!

7. Twix

I am a sucker for a good hint of caramel and even more of one when it’s covered in chocolate. I find many similarities between American candy bars. They are covered in chocolate with bits of caramel and crunch. Each is delicious in its unique way, including Twix, which pushes the limit with its cookie-crunchy center!

8. Hershey’s Bar

I will be the first to admit that a Hershey’s bar isn’t my favorite candy bar. However, others may and often disagree as this rectangular piece of milk chocolate is the only candy bar to hold the self-imposed designation of “The Great American Chocolate Bar.”

Little did Milton Hershey know that when he invented a candy bar over hundred years ago that it would become the benchmark by which all others are compared!

9. Starbursts

Starbursts have good reason to be on this list with their literal bursts of flavor and many different colors. My favorite is orange, but I don’t think I would crave them like Reese’s cups. Nevertheless, they are a great candy, especially for those who are not chocolate fanatics or want a candy that may not melt in warmer weather!

10. Skittles

Skittles are the sugary version of an M&M; to me, they don’t compare to the chocolatey goodness of the fabled candy-coated chocolate candy. Still, sour Skittles are my favorite variation, and I would pick them up every once and a while, especially if I am looking for a candy that I can enjoy on the go!

11. Hot Tamales

I’m not a big fan of spicy candies, and I am shocked that these made the list as I didn’t think they were that popular. They may be an exciting candy, certainly not one I would make my first choice, but I think they are fun to taste!

If you want to try all of America’s favorite candies, we have them for you.

In the 95-year history of our wholesale candy company, all of the sweets mentioned have withstood the test of time, and we encourage you to try them and share your opinion!

Frick Park Market, one of Mac Miller’s favorite places in Pittsburgh, PA

July 15, 2022 by
Frick Park Market pays tribute to its storied past!

“ANYTHING YOU NEED, YOU CAN FIND IT AT THE MARKET”

A line from Mac Miller’s song called “Frick Park Market

An essential part of who we are at Candy Favorites is where we are from, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Pittsburgh is known for its bridges, rivers, some of its sports teams, and local talent, including the late musician/rapper Mac Miller.

Mac Miller’s debut album, Blue Slide Park, gives a sense of him and his life growing up in Pittsburgh. He named a song after one place in Pittsburgh, Frick Park Market, located within the Point Breeze region.

Mac Miller hung out at the market and filmed the original music video for the song in the store. Frick Park Market was already a popular local spot, but Mac Miller put it on the map.

The business has been located in Point Breeze since 1902 but started as what we know as Frick Park Market in 1940.

This quaint family-owned market is known for its delicious sandwiches, staple items, and fantastic candy selection! Recently they started selling our candy in Frick Park Market, everything from Haribo gummies to KitKats to Tootsie Rolls to our famous bag candy line.

If we don’t mind saying, their candy selection alone makes this market destination-worthy.

To check out Frick Park Market, I decided to stop by. When I walked in instantly, I was greeted with a smile from both the new owners, David and Katie Gancy.

This market may have a well-known name and a music video with over 44 million views. However, it still has a warm hometown feel only a true Pittsburgher can appreciate.

The new owners of the market understand the history and sense of community it brings to Pittsburgh. They acknowledge that importance by maintaining aspects of the original market while making improvements and adding new twists.

David spent years renovating the store and took significant steps to make it current while preserving its history. Although one might feel that they are stepping back in time, the offerings and selection are anything but antiquated!

Frick Park Market is part of Pittsburgh, classic, historical, and “homey.” Mac Miller fans visit the store almost daily to see a part of his history and Pittsburgh’s.

Mac Miller wasn’t just an artist who came from Pittsburgh and left; after he came to fame, he came back to Pittsburgh frequently and loved his hometown.

Even after Mac Miller died in 2018, he has significantly impacted Pittsburgh, Frick Park Market, and all his fans.

Frick Park Market offers a great candy selection, delicious sandwiches, and kind workers and owners. It is a part of Pittsburgh and pop culture history, so if you have a sweet tooth and a hankering for some good fresh food, stop by this local joint.

A visit to this landmark will surely put a smile on your face and pay tribute to a talented musician who hailed from Pittsburgh and whose life was too short! Mention this article and you will get a FREE bag of CandyFavorites Bag Candy!

Top 10 Candies for the Summer That You Need to Have!

June 29, 2022 by
Dubble Bubble Bubble Gum is America’s Best Selling Bubble Gum!
  1. Dubble Bubble Bubble Gum

Something about bright pink bubbles and the popping sounds just transports me to summer. Maybe it’s their sweet flavor, or it’s the act of blowing the bubble itself, but bubble gum is the perfect summer treat.

Mint gum reminds me more of winter and the cold breezes that come with it, but classic pink bubble gum reminds me of all the sweetness that summer offers.

These delightful chewy pink squares are America’s Best Selling Bubble Gum for a reason, the pure joy it brings to people. So if you want some chewy pleasure or just a bit of sweet flavor, Dubble Bubble will be waiting for you all summer long.

Gummi Blue Sharks are fun to eat at the beach or pool!

2) Mini Blue Gummy Sharks

There is something about the duo of summer and sharks that fit together, or, if you are at the beach, hopefully not. Maybe that combination just strikes a balance between being frightened and fascinated.

With this candy, you no longer have to fear being eaten by a shark; they have to worry about being eaten by you!

Except this isn’t traditional shark meat, it’s sweet, chewy, and delicious shark meat. These delightful blue raspberry shark gummies will have you reach back in the bag for more and make you want to get to the beach as fast as possible.

Wax Bottles have been a favorite for decades!

3) Wax Bottles

There is nothing better than a sweet bottled drink in the summer, so it’s safe to say that this candy is perfect and refreshing and has been for decades.

Wax candies first became popular in the 1950s and have lasted every summer since then, including wax bottle candies.

With flavors including cherry, blue raspberry, lime, orange, and lemon, these juice-based candies certainly have tastes for just about everyone.

Drinking that liquid candy out of the wax bottle is so special and unique. This candy is a great way to quench your thirst and tastebuds this summer!

Jolly Ranchers area favorite year-round!

4) Jolly Ranchers

A primary challenge of eating candy during summer is the heat. The heat that is unforgiving about chocolate melting points or making hard candies squishy.

Jolly Ranchers doesn’t care about this heat challenge because it is still perfectly great to eat when faced with sweltering temperatures. They also have all the summer flavors that one could ever desire.

Simply unwrap them and pop them in your mouth to suck on, and you will experience Jolly Rancher’s magic. So if you are looking for candy to beat the heat, Jolly Ranchers are here for you!

Did you know that Sour Patch Kids were inspired by UFO Sightings in the 1970s?

5) Sour Patch Kids

There is something about sour patch kids that makes me bring out my inner child. Maybe it’s because they have “kid” in the name or because of all they stand for. The candy is also basically a two-in-one.

First they are sour, then they are sweet,” this popular slogan from their commercials and branding just flat out says it. Sour Patch Kids are both a sour candy, and a sweet candy rolled into one. Not to mention the flavor variety they have as well.

You want citrus. They got it; if you want some berry flavors, they also have that. So if you’re going to have some fun in the sun or just want to get a sour kick in your summer, Sour Patch Kids will be there for you all summer.

Lemon Drops are tart and refreshing!

6) Lemon Drops

Lemonade is a necessity for summer and withstanding the summer heat. It’s refreshing and flavorful, and it’s almost impossible to say “no” when it’s chilled.

These lemon drops deliver with the candy version of lemonade, not to mention they are more portable.

Their pucker power, sugary sweetness, and ever-so-refreshing flavor of lemon drops will sweep you away during the summertime.

7) Juicy Drops

Juicy Drops contain both the properties of a liquid and hard candy, making them one of the best candies for summer.

The Juicy Drop Pop gives you the sweetness of a classic summer lollipop and the sourness of a traditional sour summer candy with its acidic gel.

This candy is perfect if you are a person who wants the best of both worlds with having candy that is both sour and sweet this summer.

Each bag offers multiple flavors and a customizable sour-to-sweet ratio for any candy lover who wants to enjoy the summer heat and sweets this year.

Haribo Berries combine crunchy & chewy in every bite!

8) Haribo Berries

One of my favorite flavors of summer is fresh juicy berries, berries that taste like sunshine.

This candy brings that delicious flavor to a new level. From its crunchy outer shell to its soft, flavorful inside, these berries are just what you need to get in the summer spirit.

Each bag contains red and black berries, so you always have multiple berry flavors.

This candy checks all my boxes for a good summer candy: sweet juicy flavor (check), can withstand the summer warmth (check), and is an excellent candy to share with friends (check).

Slush Puppy Squeeze Candy pays tribute to a favorite summer drink!

9) Slush Puppy Candy

If you are looking for a cool summer slushy but know it’s just too hot for it to last, this candy is there for you!

This gel candy tastes exactly like the real thing and has both of the classic flavors of Blue Raspberry and Cherry. There also is a spray version to check out with the same tastes, and it’s just as refreshing.

Slush Puppies are a classic summer treat, and these candies are just a more accessible way to have this yummy treat, no matter the heat.

Salt Water Taffy is as colorful as it is delicious!

10) Salt Water Taffy

Recently on vacation, I discovered salt water taffy. Let me tell you, it is incredible!

There are endless flavor possibilities to choose from; they each are like trying a completely different type of candy. If you say you don’t like salt water taffy, I don’t think you have attempted enough because I am convinced there is a flavor for everyone.

Salt water taffy was made for summer and hot days by the beach. To me, salt water taffy is the essence of summer with its flavor, texture, name, and especially where you can find it.

Suppose you like some fruity flavor or even a decadent chocolate action. In that case, you can find it all within the beautiful, versatile salt water taffy candy.

Lucky for you all these candies can be found on CandyFavorites.com!

Hannah Brelsford's Sweet Thoughts

Introducing Hannah Brelsford, our Sweetest Blogger Yet!

June 7, 2022 by
Meet Hannah, our sweetest blogger yet!

Hi, I am Hannah Brelsford, and I am a writer for Candy Favorites* I love to be creative, write, and eat candy, so this job seemed like the perfect fit for me. My goal is to add variety to the blog through a mix of product reviews, musings, and articles about the History of Candy which is a focus of the website!

A love for sweets I have had ever since I was young. Stockings filled with candy surprises to the brim, rewatching Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, wishing so badly that I too would find a golden ticket one day, and taste testing candies with my family.

Here is my candy profile to tell you all that I love about sugar to get to know a bit about my sweet tooth!

If you read my previous work, you know that I am Reese’s lover and a Butterfinger hater! I know it’s weird they both are peanut butter sweets, but there is something about the crisp layers that I just don’t like in Butterfingers.

So far, in my time at CandyFavorites, I have written about everything from Easter candy reviews to the history of Goldenberg’s Peanut Chews.

Like it said in my candy profile, one of my favorite things to do and my sweet dream is to go to different countries and try their candies. I think it’s so fascinating that other places serve different candies, and it’s so fun to try new sweets.

That’s one thing that I love about working for Candy Favorites: I get to meet new candies and try them. So far, in just my few months here, I have tried dozens of new candies that I never even knew existed and learned so much about them.

I wanted to be a blogger when I was younger because I loved to write. Now don’t get me wrong, I was terrible at writing, but it sounded so fun to share my experiences with the world through my work. So now I get to do that in an extra sweet way, and the novelty never wears off.

I have really discovered my passion for writing through blogging for the website. What I like to write. What I don’t want to write, and to be completely honest, writing a blog post about my favorite candy is much better than writing an essay for history class.

Here’s my personal profile for you to get to know me beyond just my sweet tooth. Believe it or not, there is more about me than just my sweet tooth!

It’s been fun recently to add a new part to my personal profile, being a “Candy Blogger.” Some people tell me how lucky I am to have such an exciting job, while others ask to test some of my candy!

I have a pretty sweet life, and this writing job n has just made it even sweeter! Check out all that I have written on my candy journey, and keep checking back to see all to come. 🙂

  • Editor’s Note – Our hats are off to Hannah for her creative approach to candy and taking our blog to the next level. We hope you enjoy reading her articles as much as we enjoy posting them!  Most of Hannah’s creative work can be found in the blog but her more extensive work can be found in our Candy in Pop Culture Section.
