Ice Ice Baby: Brach’s Ice Blue Mint Coolers vs. Brach’s Starbrite Peppermint

Brachs Ice Blue Mint Coolers or Brach's Starbrite Mints - A tough choice....

We are sorry to announce that Brachs Ice Blue Mint Coolers have been DISCONTINUED as of April 2014.  Please share your comments below and we will forward them on to the manufacturer.

Sharability: 10

Denture Danger: 10  (unless you can resist the temptation to chew it)

Convenience: 10

Novelty: 8

Overall: 8

Brach’s Ice Blue Mint Coolers are an enjoyable and effective candy mint. They are great for many reasons. Firstly, they are blue. It isn’t often that you get a peppermint candy in a translucent blue color, quite aesthetically pleasing. Secondly, they are individually wrapped.

Forget the tic tacs that make it sound like you have a maraca in your pocket. These are conveniently wrapped so that you can throw them into your purse or pocket and munch one down before your date or job interview. Thirdly, you definitely get more of a breath mint effect from the ice blue mint than from the Starbrite peppermint.

The Starbrite peppermint is tasty and sweeter than the blue ice, but it doesn’t give you the same minty cool breath that the blue mint coolers do. Not to say blue mints are so intense that it hurts your teeth just to breathe.

If you want a mint for the primary purpose of eating a candy, choose the Starbrite peppermint (which would also great plopped in a cup of hot chocolate). If you want a mint for the primary purpose of having a minty fresh breath, go with the blue coolers. Enjoy!

I am thoroughly disappointed to hear you are discontinuing
Brach’s Ice Blue Mints. They have been a personal favorite of mine for many, many years. Not to mention, a staple item in my business. My clients and I are very unhappy.
Please reconsider your position on this.

Is there any way that you could start making these ice blue mints again? They are the ONLY mints worth eating because they are so strong. The altoid mints are way to strong and are not enjoyable to eat unlike the ice blues, so I heavily petition that you bring these back. They are an absolute favorite to leave at church for the rest of the congregation to use when they need a mint. Please, Please get them back. Thanks!

We are also very disappointed in the discontinuation of Brach’s Ice Blue Mints. If it were up to us, we would still be selling them. However, Brach’s decided to stop making the Ice Blue Mints so I would suggest petitioning them to bring back such a delicious mint. Thank you for your passionate plea!
