Chocolate Footballs

Reese's_Football_Candy_SnacksThe perfect candy snack for any armchair quarterback, the rich chocolate in these football shaped treats is the perfect bite-sized indulgence to munch during particularly nail-biting moments. If you want to watch the crowd go wild for a chocolatey snack, consider building a few Game Day Peanut Butter Cups! There’s no need to labor over cookies cut into football shapes, or meticulously frost a cake to look like a football field! Simply gather a few chocolate footballs, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, and a little green frosting. Dab a little of the frosting onto the top of an unwrapped Reese’s Cup, top with a chocolate football and you’ll be ready for kickoff in no time!

Football Truffles
Chocolate_Football_TrufflesLooking for something a little more rich to satisfy your guests? This recipe for Football Truffles from House of Yum, is a little more time intensive, however, the treat is worth the wait! All you need to get started are Oreos, cream cheese, dark chocolate and white chocolate. Grind up the Oreos into a fine powder and mix with the cream cheese to create a thick cookie mixture. Then, take about a tablespoon of the cookie mixture and shape it into football shapes. Set them on a cookie sheet lined with waxed paper and set them in them in the refrigerator for about ten minutes to solidify. Melt the dark chocolate, and dip each football in the chocolate and then place back on the waxed paper to cool. Finish each football by melting the white chocolate and “frosting” laces onto the footballs. Score!
