My roommates and I have a weekly tradition. Every week when we go grocery shopping, we buy a bag of chocolate to eat for the week. Last week, my roommate got miniature Hershey Smores bars. None of us had ever tried them before, so we thought why not?

They were pretty good. Milk chocolate, marshmellow, and graham cracker bits. But something was definitely missing. We finished the bag off in a week, and we of course enjoyed them thoroughly. But I decided that they just couldn’t compare to REAL smores. You know, a graham cracker bottom, a piece of a Hershey bar, a toasted marshmellow, and another graham cracker to top it off. They are just so good!

Of course, you are probably thinking that it’s so much easier to eat a smores bar, then make a real smore. Well, I’m hear to tell you that you don’t need a bonfire to make your smore. My roommates and I live in an apartment. We don’t have a fireplace, let alone a bonfire. But we do have candles! And it works just as well. Just stick a marshmellow on the end of a knife (or if you really want, grab a stick from the backyard) and toast away.

My point is that while a smores bar is good and will satisfy your chocolate craving, if you’re going to have a smores bar, you might as well just do it right. Buy the graham crackers and the hershey bar, and toast your marshmellows! It can’t be beat! So have a smores this holiday season with your family or friends. You will all enjoy it!

Until next time, this is Kandy K…..stay sweet!

Need a Hershey bar for that smore?click here!
Too lazy to buy the separate ingredients? Really you are missing out! Smores bar

A tried and true favorite with a sweet and wonderful twist, you ask? Some people may think you are searching for the latest re-make of a classic movie – or maybe the next reunion tour by your favorite oldies band. But if you were to ask me, I would tell you you were looking for the newest Nestle creation, the Caramel Crunch bar.

The original Nestle Crunch bar, invented in 1938, has been a favorite of mine since I was a little kid. With just the right amount of milk chocolate to satisfy my sweet tooth, the Crunch bar enhances what most other candy bars take for granted – the CRUNCH! To eat a Crunch bar is a simple, yet entirely satisfying experience. With each bite I feel as if I’ve just accomplished an important task in the day – and nothing makes me happier! Just tasting the crisp rice surrounded by sweet milk chocolate could keep me occupied for an entire afternoon.

But now, the sweet Nestle gods have gone and done the impossible and added a tongue-teasing twist to the already fantastic candy crunch. The new Crunch bar can be found with a sweet caramel filling! What could be better? The Nestle Caramel Crunch bar is smoother, but still with the same satisfying crunch as the original. Swirls of flavor explode in your mouth the second the combination of both chocolate and caramel hit your tongue and the reliable Crunch taste is still there to satisfy your inner urges.

The new Caramel Crunch is a delight and I strongly recommend it be enjoyed by all.

Formed in the shape of a doughnut, this new candy called, aptly, DONUTZ, is Double Chocolate and has a “creamy, chocolatey center.” As to whether chocolately is really a word is a different issue but these DONUTZ are great tasting and you still have a chance to find the elusive Gold Ticket worth $10K!

OK, I am rambling but to take a look at Mr.Wonka’s latest invention, please click here

We get tons of requests for candy bars with a silver foil wrapper and, sadly, with the exception of the M&M Amazing Bar, they are no longer being produced.

Hershey Bars and Nestle Crunch are now packaged in a sealed plastic package as are almost every other candy bar on the market.

It’s a sad state of affairs when you have a better chance of finding a gold ticket, good for $10,000, in a Wonka Bar than you do of finding a classic candy bar wraped in silver foil.
