Primrose Candy Company’s Black Taffy is not what you might expect. For starters, the candy itself has only an accent of black color. This is a salt water taffy type candy, but every pieces holds the unmistakable flavor of black licorice. The candy itself is aesthetically pleasing, a peach colored ring around a black center and dash of red coloring on the side.
Some might see this black taffy and think, “Oh, Black Jack! I remember that classic candy!” The original Black Jack (that you can now get in Beedies gum form) is no longer made in candy form, but at least you have this Black Taffy to bring nostalgia to the tip of your tongue.

where can i find the original black jack taffy…white, black and pink….???/
Does any store still sell these black jack candies? If so, could you tell me where?
Thanks
Sorry, Bonnie. We don’t have information about retail locations. You can always get them from us, and we offer free shipping on orders over $59.95.
I would like to know where this taffy is made. I actually have purchased and consumed the black jack daily for a long time. But recently I received a bag or 2 of 3lb black jack toffee that had the original bag broken and repackaged. I thought nothing of that until I opened the bag. There was a strong odor that was offensive that came from the bag but I assumed that the fragrance had something to do with the second bag. But the after tasting one piece I thought not. Smelling the other pieces I realized that it was from the taffy. On one site, the writer said their bag had 2 origins. One from a vendor in Chicago and below that it said made in China. What is the truth? Have they changed the formula?
I ordered from 2 more vendors and found this same aroma in each of the new bags. Please tell me about this because I loved the product.
I miss the lighter colors but the taste is the same and my babies , grand babies and great grand babies love this candy as much as I did and still do !!
Why did you change the color of black Jack from being white, pink and black? These are are more appealing to the eye than the yellow with black and red/orange spot.
