I Love Airheads, the orange is one of my favorites! :) Speaking of favorites...
I had the absolute best Halloweens in my childhood. I was the youngest of 7, my father was a police officer in Houston, Texas, and mom was a housewife. Imagine this is the 1960s, a black family of 7 celebrating Halloween every year with every type of candy imaginable! Now imagine our Godmother of German descent providing such delicious fun consistently!
Ms. R did not have children of her own, but she made up for it by sending my siblings gobs of candy for every occasion along with the trick or treat bag. We had candy classics Reese Cups to Wax Soda Pop Bottles with the root beer flavorings inside! She even tossed in the “Large” paper Halloween bag inside the bag she also included apples, oranges, Halloween masks, raisins, and boxes of Crackerjacks (with the real) toys inside not the wimpy paper card things they have in the boxes now.
Our Halloween bag of goodies would last us for 1½ months or more if we find it. (My mother only allowed us to have so many pieces of the sweet treasures and then she would stash them away) Ms. R would provide the same gifts everyday until 1981 after I graduated high school. I was the last to graduate being the youngest, but my siblings and I enjoyed our Halloweens every year for 21-22 years!
