Milk Duds

Manufactured by Hershey Chocolate

In 1928, a year after McKeesport Candy Co. was founded, Milton J. Holloway took over F. Hoffman & Company of Chicago who was the original manufacturer of Milk Duds chocolate covered caramels.

Originally, they intended to produce a round piece of candy but later found this to be impossible.

The name came about as the project was considered a “dud” and milk was one of the essential ingredients.
